ALL Applied AI Network runs AI student chapters as fiscally sponsored projects of ALL Applied AI Network Foundation, a 501(c)(3). Students get real budgets, real events, and real accountability — and the legal and financial weight sits with the Foundation, not with your students or your institution. Here is how, point by point.

Who is the legal entity here?
ALL Applied AI Network Foundation (EIN 42-3604980) is the sole contracting party for everything a chapter does: venues, caterers, vendors, and prizes are contracted by the Foundation, paid from Foundation accounts, and covered by the Foundation's general liability insurance. All donations and sponsorships are received by the Foundation and receipted under its EIN. No money is held in a student's name, and nothing routes through university accounts.
Do students sign anything binding?
No. The operative agreement is between the Foundation and the chapter as a sponsored project; officers agree to conduct and spending rules, not to financial obligations. Students are never personally party to vendor contracts, leases, or debts, and never carry personal liability for chapter finances. Spending happens on Foundation-issued cards restricted to approved event budgets.
How are chapters named?
Chapters are named in the form “AI Club at [School]” — a construction chosen to identify where the students are without implying the university operates, endorses, or sponsors the chapter.
What about our marks?
University names, logos, and marks are never used in commercial marketing without the institution's written permission. Chapter pages use the school name only to state where the student community is — the same way a student resume would.
Is a chapter a registered student organization?
Sometimes, and we are transparent about it either way. Recognition as a student organization is your institution's to grant, and chapters state their current status plainly rather than implying it. A chapter that is not (or not yet) a recognized student org still operates fully under the Foundation's umbrella — recognition changes campus privileges, not the legal structure.
